Happy New Year!

2013 has been a very good year for us. We welcomed our daughter into our family and have so much to look forward to.

I return to work on Jan 2. It's going to be a big transition for all of us so please keep us in your thoughts. For Allison to get used to not having her mom around as much and to get used to a new caretaker, my mom. For me to get back into the mindset of work, to accommodate pumping in the office and scheduling commute so that I can maximize my time with Allison while she is awake. For my mother who will be the primary caretaker, that she will be able to do it...

I wasn't sure if baby was teething at 12 weeks but I know now for sure that she is teething at 16 weeks. She sucks her whole hand and for these past few days, cries in pain when feeding for a shorter than usual time then puts hand in mouth. According to what I read, feeding can cause discomfort on the gums. I feel so bad for her, and worry that she will be hungry. Luckily she feeds well when drowsy/sleepy. I wanted to start withholding feeding in the middle of the night to teach her that she should sleep. Still figuring out how...

Thumbalina

Today, @ 16 weeks, Allison found her thumb and puts it in her mouth. Not quite sucking on it but tongues it. Its so cute bc her thumb is so little. Bb has been putting her hands in her mouth a lot.

Official month 2 & 3 pictures

Month 2 - Nov 3, 2013

Month 3 - Dec 3, 2013

visitor: aunt Lillian & cousin Liam

On Dec 8, auntie Lillian and cousin Liam came to visit Allison.

Tummy Time

Allison is getting much better at tummy time, an exercise activity meant to help strengthen head, neck and arm control. The first few times she hated it and cried immediately b/c it is a new and unfamiliar position. Now she can last about 3-5 minutes. We usually dangle a toy in front for her to look at as a target.
